Mies van der
Rohe said, "God is in the details." Celento Henn houses a prototyping
shop which is capable of exploring solutions in three dimensions and
of producing select objects. Many clients have sought unique objects

NEED
Students felt that Carnegie Mellon was lacking outdoor seating and gathering spaces. David Celento led a team of architecture students to propose a design build studio to the President of the University, Dr. Cyert.
SOLUTION
The University was supportive of the design-build studio concept, providing ample funding for the project. A team of architecture students built ten benches and three lamps in the spirit of Henry Hornbostel, the first campus architect. Pleased with the results, CMU considered using the lamps throughout campus. |
